Background
Katya's the youngest and only daughter among 11 siblings. Both parents were magical, but they are by no means a pureblood family. Her father worked in the ministry and her mother was a cook, but they're both retired now and have gone on an indefinite cruise around the world. Of her ten brothers (Ambrose, Bronson, Conrad, Drake, Early, Fletcher and Garrison (twins), Heath, Isaac and Jordan...they were named alphabetically), only 4 are still unmarried, and each and every one of them are protective, overbearing and incredibly annoying. As a result of this, Katya is slightly more sheltered than other 25 year olds, tends to be a little childish, and even though she tries to rebel against them, her efforts are never appreciated.
History
She was a Hufflepuff at Hogwarts, which was a cause for great amusement among the students AND her brothers (who were all Gryffindors)...due to her last name. Her nickname was Badge, coined by a 3rd year Slytherin who thought he was so cool. Her favourite subject had been Defense Against the Dark Arts, and she had done quite well at it.
Her first job at the Ministry was in the Trace division where she detected underage magic, but due to either lack of interest in her part of the fact that her superiors wondered about what it was exactly what she wanted to do, she received on owl one day to inform her of her transfer to another division.
REAL current details
After working a short stint in the Muggle Worthy Excuses office of the Ministry of Magic, Katya resigned due to boredom and wanting to find something else to do which she actually loved. She has since then tried art, music, writing, dog-walking, scrapbooking, de-gnoming, ice-cream making, gourmet cooking, glass blowing, photography and knitting. Nothing has stuck, but coming from a well-off family, she has no concerns about money so is free to do with her time what she wishes.
She has been in a relationship with Ocean Tea Jones for five years now, and they are semi-living together. The reason she hasn't moved in completely is because 1) Ocean hasn't asked, and 2) His uncle "Lord" Berty Borr lives with him. She does spend most of her time at his tea plantation, trying to allow him to get her to help with the picking and other such tea related things. The rest of her days are spent listening to droning lectures by her brothers Ambrose and Bronson.
